ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN: The Forsaken Hollows is an expansion for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, FromSoftware’s multiplayer co-op survival action game set within the ELDEN RING universe. The DLC was released on December 4, 2025, and expands the Nightfarers’ fight across the dangerous land of Limveld.

The Forsaken Hollows adds new playable content rather than replacing the core Nightreign experience. Players can take control of two new Nightfarers, Scholar and Undertaker, each designed around different combat strengths and abilities. The expansion also introduces new areas, enemies, two new bosses, and a new Shifting Earth that can alter parts of Limveld and create different challenges during runs.

Like the base game, the DLC is built around short, intense expeditions where players explore, fight enemies, gather power, and prepare for increasingly dangerous encounters. The changing environment and limited time make every run a combination of combat skill, exploration, and quick decision-making.

Gameplay

The Forsaken Hollows builds on Nightreign’s fast-paced survival gameplay. Players choose a Nightfarer and enter Limveld, where the goal is to become stronger while dealing with enemies, field bosses, changing environments, and the advancing Night’s Tide. Runs follow a three-day cycle, with players facing major boss encounters as they progress and ultimately attempting to defeat a final Nightlord.

Combat remains heavily focused on choosing the right attacks, abilities, weapons, and positioning for each encounter. Every Nightfarer has a distinct set of abilities, including a passive ability, character skill, and ultimate art. These abilities become especially important when playing cooperatively, since different characters can combine their strengths during difficult battles.

The DLC adds two new choices to the roster. Scholar specializes in arcane abilities and battlefield observation, making him suited to players who prefer magical and status-oriented combat. Undertaker focuses more heavily on strength and faith, offering a different approach to dealing with enemies.

Exploration is also important. Limveld changes between runs, and The Forsaken Hollows introduces additional areas and points of interest. Its new Shifting Earth can significantly change the map under certain conditions, encouraging players to adapt rather than rely on the exact same route every time.

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN: The Forsaken Hollows is aimed at players who enjoy challenging action combat, cooperative PvE, and repeatable expeditions where each run can develop differently. Its biggest additions are the two new Nightfarers, new bosses, additional areas and threats, and the Shifting Earth system that changes parts of Limveld.

The expansion is particularly suited to players who already enjoy Nightreign’s fast, team-oriented structure and want more variety to explore. It is less focused on traditional open-world progression and more about making smart choices within a limited expedition. PC players should also check the hardware requirements carefully, as 12 GB of RAM and the specified dedicated GPUs are required even at the minimum level.
